EMR Surveys conducts field surveys in homes to ascertain that levels of magnetic and electric radiation are within safe guidelines, especially in those areas where exposure is long term, such as the bedrooms or kitchen.
Points to watch for long term exposure in the home:
- In the bedroom - Electricity meter box on outside wall through from the bed. Increased radiation with increased load e.g. when high power appliances are switched on
- Halogen desk lamps - from the transformer, not the globe
- Flourescent lights
- Microwave ovens, even when not in use
- Connecting wires from earth/neutral (M.E.N.) terminal to earth bond at water pipe
Workplace
EMR Surveys conduct surveys in workplaces to ascertain hot spots where long term exposure (8 hours per day) may affect both the short term and long term health of employees.
EMR also provides solutions to computer screen image display problems.
